There are plethora of issues faced by Pakistan's entrepreneurial landscape. Our rank on the Global Entrepreneurship Index is 126 out of 137 countries. World Bank states that Pakistan's global ranking has come down in 2017 as compared to 2016 from 135 to 141 in terms of starting a business. This clearly means that it's a big challenge to start a business in Pakistan as compared to other countries. Businesses in Pakistan face serious constraints of all kinds i.e. infrastructural, monetary, technological and regulatory.
Only 7-8 % of the labour force is employed by government in Pakistan. This means the real burden of catering to the needs of job market lays upon corporate sector. This clearly highlights the importance of promoting entrepreneurship. It is need of time to encourage the establishment of small and medium size businesses by providing all the necessary facilities and technical know-how especially to the young minds.
Due to the technological influx that seems to affect almost every aspect of our lives, choosing the right technology has become critical for growth and sustainability of businesses more than ever. Research has shown that technology and innovation play vital role in increasing market share, financial figures and overall competitiveness. Technology elements such as cloud computing and modern communication has eliminated the traditional limits of businesses thus making them global through virtual offices.
In order to address this need of understanding the utility of technology tools and contribute to the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial landscape of Pakistan, IBA - CICT organizes IT Diploma Program.
